A Halloween Update!

Happy Halloween dear reader! I know, it’s been a while, but I’ve been hard at work doing very little. I know, that’s anticlimactic, but it’s the truth. I had been prescribed an antidepressant called Vraylar for my bipolar. However, it ended up acting as a major sedative and screwed up my focusing terribly. As such, I’ve gone off of it and since then, (October 28th—only a few days ago), I’ve been writing again.

Sadly, this doesn’t mean that you’ll see anything until Decemystery; I’ll post a little update on Thanksgiving more than likely and then I’ll focus on 2022. I’m once more terribly sorry that this year was a major letdown and I feel truly horrible. I spent most of the time I wasn’t writing playing video games and beating myself up for being a sloth and thought that it was my fault for not trying hard enough. I didn’t realize that it really was how the medication was treating my bipolar and in hindsight, I wish I’d acted quicker so it didn’t end up making me do nothing for almost two entire months.

I’ve always been self-conscious of not doing anything and while doing nothing but playing video games may seem like a dream come true, it becomes a nightmare when you burn through so much in so little time. You spend a lot of money and end up becoming a shopaholic. It sucks, trust me.

Anyways, I hope that Decemystery will be more than enough to make you all happy. Also, from the bottom of my heart: if you’re a frequent visitor of this blog, I hope that you aren’t mad at me. I’ve done all I can to continue to have this blog be as entertaining and content-filled as possible. Likewise, not providing said content upsets me; even if there’s just one person who reads this blog and is disappointed I haven’t posted recently hurts. So I really, really hope and pray that Decemystery 2021 will be the greatest Decemystery yet.

Until next time (Thanksgiving), take care and have a spooky Halloween!

A Little Happy Update! :D

Okay, it’s about time I post something since it’s been ages since I’ve posted anything here beyond a memorial to those who died on 9/11.

Lately, I haven’t been writing because I was put on a medication known as Vraylar. It’s made me incredibly happy and I’ve actually been functioning like a real person; I’ve gone out shopping, I’ve socialized with people, and I’ve generally been chipper. However, in the process, I haven’t had the motivation to write. I’ve been trying to capture it again, but I’ve found myself largely listening to music and wanting to go out and do stuff with other people.

This doesn’t mean that I will give up writing though, it just means that my reason for not posting here has been due to something. The good news to this though is that I haven’t felt suicidal anymore, nor have I felt sad in a long time. God willing, I will have a Decemystery this year. However, as for regular writing throughout the rest of the year, I doubt I’ll have stuff to showcase.

I’m sorry that this year has been so hectic to anyone who loves my writing, it just is what it is I guess.

Love you all!

Short Story: 1, 2, 3, Ding!

Welp, guess it's time to share my original fiction. I'm not really sure if it's up to snuff with my regular write-ups, but I hope you all nonetheless enjoy it.

A Question For You All

Howdy, folks. It’s your old pal, Vertigo. Okay, maybe I’m not your pal, but I’m still the writer of this blog. Lately, I’ve been going through a wee bit of real life struggles; nothing major, just your run-of-the-mill “Vertigo is prone to being a dumb 25-year-old man” stuff. However, in-between all of this, I’ve found myself writing a few short stories to pass the time until I feel ready to dive back into the world of mysteries, conspiracies, and whatever else I find on the Internet that I deem worthy of being written about.

This leads me to the point of this blog: would any of you be interested in me posting them to this blog? I only ask because I know content droughts have occurred this year (if I am to be very polite about it) and I’d love to know if anyone would be willing to check ‘em out. They aren’t exactly great by any means, but I figure that content is content and it could be worth at least receiving feedback if I opt to ever try and write something that’s a full-blown story.

Anyways, thank you for reading as always. I should have something worthwhile posted in the next week or so. Again, I understand content has been less-than stellar this year, but 2021 has been a really cruel mistress to me. I’m already hoping 2022 comes around so I can start off fresh and happy. :P

Mystery: Az’-i-wû-gûm Ki-mukh’-ti

Once upon a time, there was a website called Mystery Archive. I wrote a whopping two articles there, and one is now lost to time. It was the one I wish I could’ve found, but the Internet Archive doesn’t have the page and I am very sad. Lucky for me, I could find this one! So, due to that website appearing to be dead, I will now post it here. Woo-hoo!

Salutations, dear reader. Tell me: are you a believer in the unknown? I know I am. I love to read about cryptids of all types: Sasquatch, Nessie, Mothman, and the reason that gas prices are obscene. However, those creatures are normal; they’re simplistic in their appearance and in their names.

Indeed, cryptids can have some funny names. Whether it’s the Nyagwaiheogwa (Naked Bear) from upstate New York or the ten-legged Qupqugiaq, there’s more than a few creatures that have names that can—and most likely will—make you do a double take.

One of those creatures with funny names is the focus of today’s story. It’s known as the Az’-i-wû-gûm Ki-mukh’-ti. If you’re wondering how to pronounce that, then so am I. Though if you ask me: I don’t think pronunciation is all that important. After all, we must first discover what this creature is and that’s why I’m writing about it. So let’s grab some snow gear and head to Greenland and Alaska!

Mystery: The Murder of Alain Bouzeida

This story is dedicated to my father, whose birthday is today. Happy birthday, old man. <3

I dunno about you, but I think that every village/town/city has “that guy”. The person who’s seen as a troublemaker, or at the very least isn’t very well-liked by the community. Maybe they’re a drug dealer, maybe they’re a raging alcoholic who tries to pick fights with everyone, or maybe they’re just generally shady and there are shifty individuals who go in and out of their home. Heck, maybe “that guy” is just a bit on the weird side.

Whatever the case may be, there’s usually at least one person who’s like that. Today’s story is one which centers on someone like that; it’s a showcasing of how every community can always have one person who people just don’t like. However, the person here isn’t one who was misunderstood. No, they were… actually kind of a dick.

Before we get to who our central focus is, I want to just say that I’ve only ever seen this story covered by the YouTube channel “Criminally Listed”, back in February of this year to be exact. While I try to steer clear of covering something/someone that a much bigger, much more popular content creator has gone over, this was a story which I couldn’t help but showcase. It’s one of the weirdest and most random murders I’ve ever seen in my life. So let’s go over the murder of Alain Bouzeida.
